2 Weeks. 3 Weeks.

So many changes logged. There were smiles that we are sure had nothing to do with bodily functions, a raised eyebrow, the miraculous disappearance of dry skin, numerous water, basketball and work related adventures and a greater knowingness behind her constantly darting and (lets face it) occasionally crossing little eyes.

Washed Up

First bath. First bath. Everyone says this is such a big deal. As you can see, it certainly was for Violet. The occasion would have been better caught on video so the audio track could accurately express her high pitched wails. Poor girl. We hope she hasn't been too traumatized. Will try again soon.

Still Life With Umbilical Nub

Violet is proud to announce the shedding of her shriveled up umbilical nub. It was tenderly cared for during its 9 day run, but still found unexpectedly hanging out in the back of some girly pink pajamas. We wish it the best and welcome a rather wonderful little belly button.

Violet Sparrow Nolan Flood

Somewhere between Home Depot and Paulino's Garden Shop, the water broke, but we just didn't think it was true. 36 hours later she appeared through an unexpected cesarean peek-hole into a world of anxious onlookers. She has since been to space, re-enacted a scene from the Sistine Chapel and tried her hand at audio engineering. Mostly, she has just been loved.

Ta Da!?

We had high expectations for this final sonogram. A sweet little cheek? A peering eyeball? A few outstretched fingers? Instead we encountered this which seems to be more along the lines of a Rorschach test. I think I see a manatee cozying up below my glass bottom boat. Probably about 3:00pm, light shining through the water and lots of spring underwater foliage around. There is also the possibility that it is a flesh eating carved pumpkin creeping up from under my bed to sink its piranha like teeth in to my gut. You?
